Natural Feature
“A short 15 minute drive away from Holt you will find the incredible, natural, and very beautiful, Blakeney Point. Created by longshore drift across the River Glaven , Blakeney point is a 4-mile spit of flint-derived shingle and sand dunes. Blakeney is perhaps most famous as a viewing place to see the seals, regular boat tours are available and leave from Morston Quay daily. ”

Nature
“A rare opportunity to get ‘up close and personal ’ to the resident Grey seal and Common Seal colonies without causing disturbance. After boarding one of the five custom ferries at Morston you will head up Morston Creek and out into Blakeney Harbour. Relax and enjoy the beautiful Norfolk Coastline from the shelter of the harbour or keep an eye out for resident and migrating birds. Trips last for about an hour. It is advised to book in advance. Adults £13.00 / Children £7.00 (14 and under)”

“NATURE / ANIMALS / BEACH - Farther out for day trips (Norfolk's north coast)... Spectacular wildlife and uninterrupted views of beautiful coastline. Cley Beach is here and 15 minutes away are Holkham National Nature Reserve and the stunning Holkham Hall Estate. Blakeney Point has a mixed colony of about 500 harbour and grey seals. The harbour seals have their young between June and August. Grey seals breed in winter, between November and January. There are quiet costal paths, salt marshes dunes and lots of birds and vegetation to observe. ”

“Good beer and great value if you have a large appetite. My favourite is whale and chips - well the haddock and chips is enormous - washed down with a pint of IPA which is brewed in Southwold, Suffolk. Huge range of all homemade food. Very busy early evening as many tourists eat there but fine about 8 pm onwards when the locals pop in.”

“Grab a line and bucket from our under stairs cupboard or buy a new one from the Spar supermarket, along with some bacon or cheese as bait, and go crabbing. Drop your baited line over the edge of the quay outside the Blakeney Hotel and then wait for a tug and you will gently pull your crab up and pop it in your bucket. Tip them back after your fishing expedition and the crabs will do it all over again the next day. Blakeney Hotel itself is great value for a more formal meal with linen cloths, well-trained waiters and a great view across the saltmarshes as you dine. Unmissable.”

Pagkain
“Best place for sausage rolls, probably in the UK. But it has so much more. Good range of food and wine including fresh bread, homemade ready meals and soups and the entire range you would expect in a delicatessen. ”
