Set in Langley Burrell in beautiful Wiltshire countryside, "No 1" offers versatile easy living. With enclosed gardens and our friendly village pub just a 'stone's' throw' away, it's the perfect place to get together with family and friends.
From home, walk to the river for a picnic, relax in the south facing garden, have fun with the games, sharpen your ping pong skills or 'take five' in the arbour. At night, gather round the fire pit toasting marshmallows or settle down to a film on the 65" tv

Ang tuluyan
"No.1" is a bright and airy detached family home with well enclosed gardens and a gated drive with parking for 4 cars. The property can accommodate 9 adults comfortably across two separate living spaces. The main house, which has 3 double bedrooms and 1 large single bedroom, and The Studio which has a further double bedroom. The two spaces are inter-connected by a door from the main sitting room. There are 2 additional beds for extra guests if required, sleeping a total of 11.

Generally speaking, 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at a cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Within reason, we try to be dog friendly, so if you have any needs outside of this, please do contact us to discuss.

Main house:

Upstairs you will find 4 bedrooms and a family bathroom. Luxury hotel standard towels and bed linens are used throughout, and extra fleece blankets are provided for your comfort.
Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed, an en-suite shower room, and overlooks the main garden.
Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed and a view to the main garden.
Bedroom 3 has a standard double bed and views to the lane.
Bedroom 4 has a single bed and a comfortable single sofa bed.
There is also a single foam chair mattress which can be folded out and placed to suit your needs.

Stairs lead down into the kitchen which is a wonderful social space with doors and views leading out to all sides of the house, so linking everyone together. The oak dining table comfortably seats 8 and two further spaces can be set at the island. Sign into the Amazon Echo with Guest Connect for voice assist and your music and media requirements.
Off the main kitchen is a cloakroom (with WC) and utility room housing an American style fridge freezer alongside the washing machine and tumble dryer.

On from the kitchen you'll find a welcoming, cosy sitting room. There is a woodburner for cooler evenings and plenty of comfortable seating. Throws and additional snugly fleece blankets are provided for extra comfort. For your entertainment there is a 65" television with soundbar (bluetooth), and a Wii with extra controllers for family fun. With books and board games, the shelved study area forms part of the lounge and provides a quieter space to relax, looking out across the main lawn to the arbour.

The Studio:
(The studio has been enjoyed as guest accommodation for three years and is very highly reviewed. Please ‘click on “See other reviews” below for a link to it’s Air B & B listing).
From the sitting room in the main house, 2 steps take you into The Studio. The accommodation, with mezzanine floor, is arranged under a vaulted ceiling. Walk past the shower room and the under stairs laundry and storage space, and you will come to a split staircase. Halfway up and you can exit the studio through stable doors and step down to the secluded studio garden. Go on up the stairs and you’ll arrive at the upper mezzanine floor, where French doors open to a Juliette balcony and look over the main garden. This light and airy space is the main living area and is where you’ll find a comfortable double bed and also have space for a single foldaway mattress if required. The living space also offers a bespoke kitchen (which can be converted to a study area if preferred). Designed with light meals in mind, there is a very good combination oven, and also a fridge freezer, kettle, cafetiere and toaster.

The gardens at “No.1” are ideal for relaxing and having fun. A paved and decked area, complete with luxury rattan dining furniture and a charcoal fired barbecue, sits between the sitting room, kitchen and main garden, perfectly connecting the three spaces for easy alfresco dining or simply gathering together throughout the day.
Garden games including, Ludo, Connect 4, Garden Darts, Croquet Football, Skittles, Boules and an enormous Garden Twister are provided for your enjoyment and can be played on the main lawn, or move to the table tennis area for a group ‘ping-pong, around the table’ challenge.
For a quieter time, the studio garden provides a secluded space to read or sunbathe, or, head to the arbour for a chat and a ‘cuppa’.
As evening draws in, grab one of the fleece blankets and light the fire pit to keep the chills away.

Saan ka pupunta

Langley Burrell, England, United Kingdom

"No. 1" is perfectly located for a countryside break on the edge of the Cotswolds, with the added bonus of Chippenham railway station being 5 minutes away where you'll have direct access to Bath (10mins), Bristol (20 mins), and London (70mins).

For those preferring to stay away from city bustle there's the Malborough Downs to explore, or perhaps go in search of the 7 remaining White Horses etched into the Wiltshire hillside.
Another Wiltshire delight just 20 or so minutes drive away, is the Caen Locks at Devizes. One of the largest flights of continuous locks in England (29 in total).
Amesbury, Tetbury, Bradford-on-Avon and The Limpley Stoke Valley are all around a 30 minutes drive away and all offer something special for an afternoon out.

And then of course, there's the Cotswolds.....

But much closer to home we are lucky enough to be on the doorstep of Castle Combe and Lacock. Just a 10 minute drive away (or a pretty cycle if you take the lanes), both are quintessential English villages, that are the back-drops to many films.

Closer still, take our much loved river walk from the house and you'll eventually cross the river at the historic Maud Heath's Causeway (14th Century).....a series of 64 arches forming a pedestrian path over the Avon flood plain.

We will be staying near-by and will be available to deal with any problems, but generally, apart from a once weekly visit to maintain the biomass boiler (situated in the garage) and to mow the lawns if needed, our guests can expect to be left alone to enjoy their stay.
