Welcome to "Casa El Capítulo" - a 124 sqm. villa with capacity for 9 persons and children between 2-12 half price - in Temisas!
There's so much more to Gran Canarias than crowded beaches in the south, the busy city streets of Las Palmas in the north: There's also great panoramic views and the possibility to experience authentic Canarian cuisine, witness traditional craftmanship and enjoy the pastoral, cultural landscape all rich in history. But why not have it both ways?

Ang tuluyan
The peaceful and tranquil village of Temisas lies just a 25 minutes’ drive from the LPA airport, and approximately 15-20 minutes from the beaches of Arinaga, and as soon as you get down to the highway you'll have easy access to sea and sand in Maspalomas or shopping in the cosmopolitan Las Palmas within a 30 minutes drive.
The two storey, 124 square meter villa combines both open, airy spaces and undisturbed privacy. With 3 main bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a big living room with a comfy sofa lounge, kitchen island and a eight-person dining table. If you want to work from home you'll have easy access to both wi-fi and power supply up on the roof terraces or by the patio hammock, as well as the rest of the house.
Indoors the villa also offers several working spaces: Up on the second floor gallery-library or the dedicated studio office (the "blue room") which also has its own, small balcony for a well deserved coffee break.
Or if you just need wind down, practice yoga or do morning exercise bathed in the spectacular golden and ocher sunrise coming up from the Sahara Desert while the roosters crows, and later maybe meditate in the “sweet light” of the afternoon, all alone or in the preferred company of friends, this is the place for you.
And at the end of the day you can sink into the roomy, comfy sofas and swipe through the channels, or enjoy a movie or two from the expansive DVD-library, on the grand widescreen TV-set.
Arriving in Temisas you'll find the "El Capítulo" villa spot on in the village centre. With panoramic view of the valley below where the majestic "Roque Aguayro" rests upon the endless, blue horizon, and picturesque overview of the public plaza and the local St. Michael church.

Access ng bisita
Regardless of which floor the guests choose to reside in they will have access to the patio, the roof terraces, the living room with kitchen area and sofa lounge.

Iba pang bagay na dapat tandaan
Important notice for all village visitors: When leaving Agüimes don't head straight towards Coralillos and "Camping Temisas", but take the right turn and head up the GC-550 road towards Temisas/St.Lucia/San Bartolomé; this is "pueblo Temisas".

Lokasyon

Temisas, Canarias, Spain

Upon entering the village you will be greeted by hillsides filled with the canopy of palm trees and innumerable olive trees as the village is famous for it's cultivation of olives; a tradition dating back centuries and up until recently a rare find on the island as the lush, east facing environment since long has provided unique agricultural conditions. And the area is now a protected natural and cultural heritage site. An etymological theory is that "Temisas", locally an uncommon name, derives from the Arabic language and simply signifies "Olives".
-Want to explore? This is a very group-friendly house for those who wants to put up base. And as a starting point there's perfect opportunities for trekking by following the signposted hiking trails to visit the neighboring villages Agüimes and Santa Lucia or further. Just make sure that you stop by "Barranco de las Vacas" on the way to Agüimes, which has become a local attraction for young and old with it's Colorado-esque dried out river tunnels. Or just stay in the village to make a trip to explore the local cave systems situated on each of the valley ridges. Both dating back the to the indigenous Canarian people, colloquially called the "los guanches", or more correctly "los aborígenes".

-Hungry? Thursdays to Sundays, on afternoons, our local olive-oil producer Mathias & Sons welcomes guests to his gastro-bar "El Acebuche" with specialties as avocado-omelette, the Tomahawk steak, roasted rabbit, homemade mojo (of course), premiered canarian cheese as well as local soft goat cheese and a variety of salads. But nearly needless to mention also his artisan olives and bottles of freshly squeezed olive oil that you can buy to bring back home. Upon arrival make sure to notice the staff that you're staying at the "El Capítulo" and you'll be invited some surprise starters to awaken the appetite.

-Care for a round of dominoes, cards or a game of chess? Walk ten short steps down to the village plaza and sit in with the locals enjoying refreshments from the local social club. Just remember to bring a dictionary as the canarión-dialect tends to be bit coarse even for mainland spaniards, but always followed by a smile for the uninitiated.

-In need of a quick "pick me up" and a cheerful laugh? Tuesdays to Sundays you can pop by Peppe, just up the street, in the "El Chorro" bar for coffee (as for the sweet toothed adventurer; ask Peppe for a coffee "leche con leche" and keep your insulin shot ready at hand), ice cream, snacks and assorted tapas. "El Chorro" refers to the "jet" from a water well vis a vis the bar, where you can do as the locals and fill your bottles with the mineral rich water filtered through the rocky landscape.

-Curious to take closer look on Jupiter, Venus and Mars? Watch a passing asteroid? On Fridays the local space observatory normally opens for visitors in change for small fee. Our local astronomer Mario is not unfamiliar with the English language, so when he does his power point presentations on the latest mind boggling discoveries in astronomy you could always ask him to be filled in.

-For doing the groceries or get a quick haircut there’s a 10 minute drive down to the neighbouring village Agüimes where you'll find several supermarkets, bazars offering everything from hard ware, crayons, toys, beach gear and you-name-it, a regular hard ware store and two pharmacies. Enter the labyrinth of alleys leading up to the neoclassical San Sebastián church, where in the alleyways and different plazas you'll find numerous bars and restaurants offering the best of Canarian cuisine.
Also, equally important: Situated in Agüimes there's a 24 hour medical center and a police station.
-In Santa Lucia , a 10 minute drive further up from Temisas, there's also a couple of supermarkets and fruit markets, restaurants, artisan shops and the church that every year sees herds of pilgrims and islanders arriving coming for the fiesta of Saint Lucia 13th of December.
Both villages provides the nearest gasoline stations.
-The climb further up to San Bartolomé might be steep, but worth the effort, with vantage points that lets the spectator take in the vast view of the islands east-side slopes and the seemingly endless Atlantic Ocean below. Not to mention more restaurants, local shops and historical sites. Go round the bend from San Bartolomé and the landscape changes wild and drastically as if it once were the playground of gods, where clashes of different geological processes tumbles upon each other, giving cemented testimony to the islands colossal labor pains. Since long a great inspiration for artists and composers like Camille Saint-Saëns. There, in the heart of the island, you'll soon spot the famous Roque Nublo natural monument carved out of the sediments. But the lesser known Roque Bentayga also leaves a huge impact: Stretching for the sky from the midst of the panoramic Tejeda valley, with its ancient, sacred tombs for the indigenous tribes elders at its base, and a sacrificial altar, still to see (and be respected) at the middle plateau.
