The space is for 4 people, but for a small additional fee we can fit in an extra 2 on floor mattresses.

Accommodation includes a wood cabin and a glass house, that are next to each other (10m distance between them). Each has its own character.

The wood cabin is rustic and cozy, with a fireplace. It has two snug bedrooms with bunk beds (sleeping 4), a kitchenette, gas stove and oven, small refrigerator and dining table, bathroom (shower with hot water), little living room and electricity (220V). With these amenities, it's ideal at nighttime.

The glass house is an open-plan living space on two floors. Built of pale wood, it's totally surrounded by windows and large sliding glass doors, so it catches all natural light. The feeling is of immersion in the surroundings, with the garden out front and forest right behind. It's like being outdoors from within the comfort of a home. Downstairs, the open-plan area includes a living space, rustic country kitchen with a small gas stove and oven, dining table and free cooking essentials for guests to use. Upstairs is the "tree house" mezzanine with a little seating area, mattresses on the floor, lots of board games and books. In the evenings, the glass house is powered by candles and solar lights, giving that sense of calm, adventure and escape to the days before electricity. For electricity and the bathroom, just head across to the wood cabin.

Surrounding the wood cabin and glass house is a large garden with tree ferns, orchids, hummingbirds and three little mountain streams. In the organic vegetable garden, guests can pick herbs and other greenery. There is rainforest all around, with views up to mountain peaks. The property borders a stretch of river where there are small rapids and swimming spots that you'll have to yourself. The river comes straight from the mountain headwaters, so it's very clean and clear (and cold). It's secluded and tranquil, right at the end of the valley. Starting in the garden, there are several walking trails, including along the scenic dirt track down the valley, or deep into the forest and up nearby mountains.

For directions to get to Macaé de Cima, see below.

Our surrounding area is natural, beautiful and unpopulated. The region is almost entirely covered in rainforest, with mountain peaks, clear rivers and abundant wildlife. This is all protected by both the Três Picos State Park and the APA Macaé de Cima. We're located at the end of a 18km dirt road, right at the end of the valley. On some days you won't see another person. You'll pass a few hidden sítios, a fazenda and a little cluster of houses 3km from us. It's a very small and friendly community. We all know each other, are pretty self-sufficient and are proud to look after our local environment.

Our place is for those who love nature, the outdoors and adventure.
