Join me on the most beautiful last fortification trail of the Maltese Islands. The Last Fortification trail will see us hike around Fort Campbell and its underlying beaches. Fort Campbell is the most important fortification north of the Victoria Lines, and the last major fortification to be built in Malta by the British between 1937 & 1938 We will start our hike on a hilltop at Selmun Chapel on the outskirts of Mellieha, walking towards Selmun Palace. The palace used to be rented out to knights of the Order of Saint John as a place to relax and hunt wild rabbits, which were commonly found in the area. Following the path around the palace we can enjoy unobstructed views of Mistra Bay below us. Squaring up to Fort Campbell we take a right at the fork through a downhill path that cuts through cultivated farmland. Looking down from Rdum il-Biez you can see the beautiful blue waters of Ras il-Mignuna. Making our way across an uneven path, we can enjoy the magnificent views of St.Pauls Islands to our right. We now find ourselves in uncharted territory where not many Maltese have ventured before due it the areas remoteness. Are you ready for the adventure? Starting at Central Market, where we will try a typical snack, we are going to conquer one of the most beautiful castles in Spain in front of the sea which has more than 1000 years of history. We will descend to the historic center enjoying the most important monuments and discovering the seven secrets. Let us surprise you with the beauty of my hometown and with countless anecdotes, history, legends and intrigue. Finally we will visit a terrace in a bar run by my childhood friend, located in a historic location, and you will be able to taste my favourite typical snacks as well as a typical Spanish drink! WHAT'S INCLUDED: 1 bottle of water, typical snack at Central Market , shuttle bus transfer to the top of the castle (5 min trip), guided tour and free entrances to all the monuments/museums that we are going to visit, and special snack and one drink (alcoholic or not) at one of the best locations in Alicante. Other things to note We will walk approximately 2 kilometers and there are some stairs. Morning bookings, starting until 14:30, we will taste the central market´s snacks inside of the market. Afternoon bookings, the snacks will be offered at the spots outside of the market, because inside only opens morning time.

During the trip we will visit waterfalls, swim in a natural thermal spring lagoon (25C year round), water caves, canyons, and a few surprises along the way. It is not too extreme or strenuous as we move to the different locations with the minivan. Let’s call it a glamventure day :) This is NOT a hiking day. This tour is suited for almost everyone. Fit or not, young or more experienced ;-) I will guide you to get close to the massive waterfall, swim at the thermal springs and really almost whatever you are up to. If you are not so active, all the locations are perfect for chilling, taking amazing pictures and just enjoy a perfect day in the nature with fellow travellers. Of course there are nice stops to have local food and drinks. This experience is perfect for couples, group of friends, families, hen/stag dos and solo travellers.
