Cliffs of Moher Hike from Doolin
The Cliffs Of Moher is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. This guided tour will take you on an 8km (5 mile) adventure from the small fishing village of Doolin, along a breathtaking route to the top of the Cliffs Of Moher. The experience is brought to life with fascinating stories passed down from generations. Oh, and you will see the BEST views of the Cliffs of Moher! Views that are not seen by 97% of the people who visit the Cliffs of Moher each year. Bring your camera! WHERE DOES THE EXPERIENCE START? The experience begins at the Fiddle + Bow Hotel in Doolin where you will meet the guide. The guide will explain the itinerary and answer any questions. The tour is less about facts and figures and more about stories. The guide always encourages stories from visitors too! WHERE DOES THE EXPERIENCE END? The tour will end at the visitor center at the top of the Cliffs where guests are free to go inside to relax. By the end of this experience, guests will have explored the Cliffs of Moher in a way most don't get to see it. They will be left with a strong sense of connection with Clare and the Cliffs of Moher. TRANSPORTATION Transportation back to Doolin will be organized by your guide! Most people opt for the taxi but you can walk or get the public bus too! IS THE HIKE DIFFICULT? We suggest a moderate level of fitness! However, there are hills.
Galway's legendary walking tour !
The legendary tour centers around the tale of the Lynch family. Its a fascinating tale of how Walter Lynch is accused and tried for the murder of a visiting Spaniard who was a little too interested in his beautiful wife to be...or was he ? The story ends in a dramatic climax...but you will have to take the tour for that finale ! We also look at the legend of the Claddagh ring with a tale connected to Caribbean pirates, North African slave owners and a gold ring that speaks of eternal love. Christopher Columbus makes his appearance too, looking for a new way to China, but worrying that Atlantis might stand in his way. These and other tales are woven together in a 80-90 minute walk through the city. Its taken at a gentle pace to bring in all the major places of interest and embed them into the story of our city. Other things to note Dont worry about it raining - we have plenty of places to hide out of the rain !
Burren, Co Clare Flyfishing experience
You've just found the best adventure in Co.Clare! We welcome beginners through to expert flyfishing anglers and look forward to sharing this amazing experience with you! We meet at Lough Inchiquin car park, where guests will have a 30 minute lesson to learn the basics of casting a fly rod, then off we go on our fishing adventure! We walk along the bank through an old Celtic forest to the River Fergus nearby. I have discovered many secret nooks and crannies in the landscape to share with you, along with a little bit about the history and unique flora & fauna of The Burren. With a little luck, we will catch one of the beautiful wild brown trout. Guests are often amazed at the magnificent colours of these little fish with a gold belly and blue and red spots! Couples, families & groups up to 5 people all love this experience, it is very popular with international visitors. Guests are welcome to get in touch & request an early morning or late evening fishing trip outside of those listed in the calendar. I provide all fishing tackle and even wellies should you need them. I'm looking forward to hosting you very soon!
Meet my sheep and spin their fleece
I will greet each guest at the front gate and introduce myself and my five sheep to them. They will be allowed to pet and feed the sheep. I will share a little about my background and why I love what they will be doing. Then we will go to the spinning studio where we will talk about wool, how it is sheared and washed before dyeing and spinning. Each guest will be given a skein of wool which they will take into the dyeing shed. A dye bath made from natural plants and flowers found in the countryside around my cottage will be ready for their wool. The wool will be dipped into the dye bath and allowed to stay for awhile. Meanwhile, back to the studio where I will teach guests how to card the fleece and hand spin it on a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. Guests will be given the opportunity to try their hand at spinning on the drop spindle. We will then take a tea and coffee break. After the break, back to the dye shed to check on the wool. We will take it out of the bath, rinse it and each guest can take theirs away with them. If time allows, I will do a weaving demonstration and each guest can try for themselves. Other things to note Guests should wear suitable clothing for handling fleece.
Aran Island Bike Tour with Tea/Scones - Day Trip from Doolin
Join me and my team of guides on one of the most beautiful and stress-free day trips to Inisheer, the smallest of the Aran Islands! Meeting at Doolin Pier, we board a modern ferry for our 20-minute journey to Inisheer. En route, we often see the dolphins that love to swim beside the ferry. The island is like a time machine. As soon as you step foot on Inisheer, you will hear Irish (or Gaelic) being spoken everywhere. You will experience Irish traditions that have been lost on the mainland. We will bike our way around the breathtaking Island visiting sunken churches, rusted shipwrecks, and castles. After our bike tour, we will visit a local islander’s cafe, for some tea/coffee and fresh scones (an Irish sweet bread served with jam and cream). Una & John, the owners are fantastic storytellers who will share stories along with some island secrets! Afterward, you will have some free time. Some like to use their free time on the sandy beach, in the pub, or at the playground (if you have kids, they will love this playground - lots to do). If you like, you could simply bike around the island some more!

The Cliffs of Moher driving excursion
This is a fun crawl around the cliffs of moher area including stops at the best vantage point of the cliffs and local curiosities. Meet me at my home (a mile from the cliffs). You will be driven by me and my doggy, Moby to the best vantage points. I will drive you along the tiny back roads giving you a different insight into the Cliffs of Moher from above cliff tops and below. Most visitors only see the visitor centre without realising there are 16kms of cliff paths to explore. We will pop out at points and hike/walk as long as you wish. Some folks want to hike a few miles, others want to just take photo's and have a stroll around. That's up to you !! It also has appeal to folks with limited mobility, folks who are particularly interested in photography, history or maybe you just want a relaxing day out without having to worry about driving. There are some lovely local small artisan shops we drop into also, all charming little spots connected to the cliffs, ideal for coffee & bathroom breaks or just to take a quick peak.
Walk Thru Centuries of History & Music
Kilfenora is steeped in traditional Irish music and history, and is home to the most famous of all Irish music bands, The Kilfenora Ceili Band, founded in 1909 and still performing to this day. We will walk through the ancient village of Kilfenora exploring the history and traditional music of this iconic Irish village, where a monastic site was founded by Saint Fachtna in AD560. There is also evidence that Kilfenora was a holy place in pre-Christian times. We will visit the Cathedral, the Celtic High Crosses, and the 10th-12th century carvings. You will learn the detailed history of this, one of Ireland's smallest dioceses, where the Pope is still the bishop (that's a great story in itself)! We will listen to some recordings of the Kilfenora Ceili Band, Ireland's oldest and most famous traditional music band, founded in 1909 and still playing to this day, and you can try out your dancing or drumming skills to the music of the Kilfenora Ceili Band. We will meet and chat with local people who live, work and play music in this historical village. Other things to note This tour involves some light walking, but no hills or climbs

Knit a traditional Aran pattern in the Burren
Explore the history and symbolism of one of Ireland’s traditional crafts with a hands-on experience and workshop on the techniques of the intricate Aran knitted patterns. Suitable for all levels of experience. In this workshop, you will create your own Aran panel which can be framed or be part of a larger piece of work, such as a throw, sweater or scarf. The workshop is held by Stephanie, a professional knitter who provides commissioned knitted Aran creations and exhibits her art in Galway City. With her guidance and instructions, you will be able to both learn, understand and try your hand at a selected pattern. We'll provide you with local wool, a pattern and knitting needles. The Aran style and patterns have been handed down over generations and are originally from the three Irish speaking islands off the coast of County Galway. Traditionally worn by fishermen for their water-resistant quality and warmth, they were an everyday clothing item among the islanders. They have over time become a worldwide admired fashion item. Each pattern has its own symbolic meaning, it represents a story and a symbol, deeply rooted in Irish history and life; they also tell the stories and life of the knitter and their family. End your visit with tea and coffee, accompanied by traditional homemade brown bread with smoked salmon, and homemade porter cake.
